CHEVEL
Chevel, is the studio practice of Dario Tronchin (b.1989), an Italian composer, producer and recording artist, whose works range from intricately programmed sound-design through art-inspired and colour-rich compositions. Hailing from Treviso and coming from a techno and house background, Chevel has been pioneering a new sound described as ‘weightless’ in recent years. Displaying a new found sonic maturity rooted in granular synthesis, cinema and futurism, Dario has been invited to release on leading labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, Houndstooth, Different Circles and Non Series, whilst simultaneously curating his own label Enklav. Often collaborating with like-minded musicians Dario promotes a forward looking attitude to exploration and sound design-biased experiments. Chevel has certainly attracted his fair share of international press including obscure platforms such as The Wire and Pitchfork, who recognise Dario’s ability “to take things apart and break preconceptions”. Recent successes include the “Nature of Skateboarding” campaign for Casio G-Shock and the “Red Passion 20/21” global campaign for Campari, directed by Matt Lambert as premiered on Nowness.
